23rd Corinne Feller Tournament Was Held

The 23rd Corinne Feller Tournament was held on November 29 and December 1.  It was the kick-off for the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team.  Marlboro, Middletown and John S. Burke participated in the tournament.

Corinne Feller was a scholar athlete at Valley Central High School whose life was cut short by ovarian cancer at age 18. She was beloved throughout Section IX and remembered as both an outstanding player and person who cared about the less fortunate and the environment.

Corinne’s niece, Jenna O’Connor, is currently a sophomore forward/center on the Valley Central team.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Corinne Feller Scholarship Fund administered by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. More than $70,000 has been awarded to graduating Valley Central students in Corinne’s name since the fund was established.  Donations are accepted at https://cfosny.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1123
