  • A statement from Lisa Raymond, Assistant Superintendent of Business re: tax rebates:

The Valley Central School did stay under the tax cap and did submit a government efficiency plan that was approved.  Taxpayers should expect to receive a rebate from the NYS Division of Budget.

  • The Valley Central School District has been served with tax certiorari proceedings from Allegiance Healthcare for the last four school years. Although the District would be impacted by any reductions in the assessments of the District’s largest taxpayer in the form of court-ordered refunds, it is not automatically a party to those proceedings. To better protect the District’s significant financial stake in the outcome of such proceedings, the Board of Education has decided to intervene which will ensure that the District’s legal counsel will be able to actively participate in all court developments, including settlement negotiations.
