A Message from Principal Russ Burns

I am very proud to have been part of the Middle School for the past twelve years. My initial experience as an assistant principal gave me an understanding of how to best support our students, families and teachers. The highlight for me has been the many wonderful conversations that I have had with students and the friendships that I have built with the faculty, staff, and community members. I have greatly enjoyed seeing many students go on to careers and even start their own families. We have a wonderful community.

I have also greatly enjoyed being the building principal these past two years. It has been my privilege to lead during these unprecedented times, and I have been proud of the work we have accomplished. Opening our doors in September was a momentous task. Valley Central was successful in doing so. We have faced tremendous challenges, but have headed them on with courage and professionalism. Through focusing our efforts and collaborating with each other we can accomplish great things.

I am exceedingly proud of our teachers and staff. These dedicated individuals regularly give of themselves in order to help students and families well beyond the classroom. You should be very proud of our district. As a community member and parent, I have a front-row seat as groups at every level problem-solve to help our children through these challenging times. I am confident that we will get through this together.

Please know that as I move to the high school that I will continue to serve our community with the same fervor and dedication that I have shown over the past decade at the middle school. I look forward to working with the high school faculty, staff and students. We will continue to strive for excellence at every level. Please let me know how I can support you further in this new role.
