Coronavirus: Instructional Plan

Instructional Plan during the Coronavirus Shutdown

The Valley Central School District would like to stress that instruction and assessments will focus on “quality over quantity”. It is essential that parents and family members encourage and support children to be engaged daily in this instruction. We are very aware of the stress this may be causing and that your household may be experiencing a multitude of issues.  We ask that you simply do your very best, as this will benefit the children greatly upon returning to regular instruction.

Valley Central teachers will focus on essential standards for their grade level or course. Teachers will track participation and completion of all assignments. Google Classroom, Google Meet, and/or email, will be the primary methods of instruction and communication. Your child’s teacher will contact you with specific information. If your child still does not have access to a device or to the internet, please reach out to your building principal right away. Teachers will be collaborating to ensure students and parents are not overwhelmed with an abundance of material.

As a reminder, please continue to have your child check their emails and Google Classrooms on a daily basis. We are aware that everyone is in a different situation and ask you to do your very best to encourage your children to engage in and complete the assignments. Please reach out to us if you are experiencing any technological issues or have any questions and we will do our best to support you in every way possible.
