Although this year may look a little different, we will continue to provide the same nurturing and supportive learning environment to our students. School-Home communication is very important and we want to share our procedures as we reopen our doors.
ALC SCHOOL DAY IS 8:45 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
All bus students will unload one at a time and have their temperature checked prior to entering the building. Upon entry to the building, students will report directly to their classroom. For those students who have breakfast, a “Grab-and-Go” breakfast will be available. If time permits, the students will be able to have breakfast in the cafeteria. Otherwise, they will be able to bring their breakfast to the classroom.
For students being dropped off by parents or walkers, temperature checks will be conducted prior to entering the main entrance. Students should arrive no earlier than 8:30 a.m.
Please ring the bell and have your ID ready for presentation to the bell camera operated by our Greeter. Your child will be buzzed in the front door and will have their temperature checked. As parents/visitors will not have access to the school building. The Greeter will sign your child in and notify the teacher that the child has arrived and is proceeding to class.
STUDENT PICK UP
Although we know that emergencies can happen, please have all requests for pick-up to the main office by 2:00 p.m. The preferred communication is to send in a note with your child with time of pick up. We will call to confirm student pick-ups. When you come to pick up your child, please ring the bell and have your ID ready for presentation to the bell camera operated by our Greeter. The Greeter will call for your child to report to the Greeter’s desk with their belongings for dismissal.
ITEM DROP OFF
Please ring the bell and inform the Greeter what you are intending to drop off. You will be asked to leave the item(s) on a small table by the main entrance. The Greeter will retrieve the items and manage delivery to the appropriate person and location.
Students will be eating lunch in the cafeteria during their assigned period. Lunch orders are taken on the previous day by the classroom teachers. If a student was absent and did not submit a lunch order, they will complete an order form upon arrival to school.
Walkers will be dismissed first and by the Main Entrance. Bus students will remain in their 9th period class until their bus is called for dismissal.
All Remote Learners will be part of a google classroom. In this classroom, students will receive announcements, attendance check-ins, daily lunch orders, important forms and access to resources.
For parents/guardians, we will use an email system for important information as well as our school website. Please make sure that we have an updated email address.
