Backpack Snack Attack has continued through COVID-19 Crisis

The Backpack Snack Attack Program has been at Valley Central since 2010 and has been a labor of love for our Attendance Teacher and Homeless Liaison, Barbara Gravel who works in conjunction with the First Reformed Church in Walden.

This program provides bags of food for 139 students needing food assistance every weekend to help fill the gap when school meals are not available.

During the COVID-19 Crisis, Barbara Gravel made sure that those bags were still delivered. Our custodial staff have been delivering them to the homes of the students since the shut-down.

We are grateful to Barb for her hard work always going above and beyond. We are also grateful to the First Reformed Church of Walden and all the local volunteers who pack these bags faithfully every week even during this crisis.
