This letter is to serve as an update on recent positive Covid-19 Cases reported at Valley Central.
Over the holiday weekend the district was informed of 4 staff members at Berea Elementary School that tested positive.
Yesterday, December 1, 2020 the district was informed of a Valley Central High School staff member that tested positive.
Today, December 2, 2020 the district was informed of an ALC staff member that tested positive.
The buildings have been properly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the guidance of the New York State Department of Health. We have been in constant contact with the Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH) to assist them with the identification and contact of the staff members that were probable direct, close or proximate contacts with the infected individual in the school building. The OCDOH makes the final determination as to who is considered a close or proximate contact.
