The Valley Central Scholarship Council is a not-for-profit corporation designed for the sole purpose of providing financial assistance to graduates of the Valley Central School District.


    Formed in 1964, under the advisement of Victor W. Haggar, Principal, as the Valley Central High School PTA Scholarship Committee.


    Valley Central Scholarship Council has grown in membership, mission and scholarship awards.


    Since its inception, Council has awarded over $890,000 in scholarships to graduating VC seniors for the purpose of furthering their academic and/or vocational education.


    These scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors of the Valley Central School District who will pursue additional education, through trade and technical schools, community/junior colleges, and universities.


    Any member of the VC senior class may apply for a scholarship.


    Selection criteria and requirements are:


             An essay, anticipated first year educational costs, academic merit, participation in the community, extracurricular participation, reliability and dependability.


             The selection committee is comprised of Scholarship Council members and VC High School Administrators.
