Our fifth grade is lucky to have the opportunity to visit Greenkill Outdoor Environmental Education Center for a day. Greenkill is a YMCA camp in Port Jervis, New York. It is staffed by Naturalists, all college graduates, many of whom are certified teachers. While the students are at Greenkill, they participate in a variety of learning activities with their naturalist. Teachers act as chaperones and accompany the students throughout the day on their adventures, but Berea teachers do not do the teaching while at Greenkill. Current Berea students travel to Greenkill for one extended day. While this experience is different from the photos displayed, you can still review the photo album pages by clicking on the toolbar at left for a detailed description of the Greenkill experience.
