    Dear Parent/Guardian:

I hope that you and your family have had an enjoyable and peaceful summer vacation.  I trust that your student is well rested, recharged and ready for a new school year. As a reminder, the 2019-2020 school year begins on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.  During the first week of school, students will report to a special occasion homeroom on September 4 & 5, 2019.  The list of special homerooms will be posted on the High School website (www.vcsd.k12.ny.us) by August 23, 2019 and will also be available in the High School Main Office.  Homerooms are listed by grade and last name. Additional important dates and information can also be found on the website. Classes begin at 7:25 AM and the day ends at 1:52 PM.  Post Session is 1:55PM – 2:25PM.

Student schedules will be distributed on opening day. Notification of schedules being available for viewing on the Parent Portal will be made to you through an automated call.  Guidance counselors will review schedules and contact students where there is a question or a problem.

All incoming ninth grade students and new students are invited to attend Freshmen Orientation on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Orientation will include an introduction to Valley Central High School, making choices for the future, and tours of the building.  Please drop off and pick up your freshman at the main entrance. Parents are invited to attend an informational session in the High School Auditorium from 8:00AM -10:00AM with High School Administration.

Open House will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM.  Please come and visit your child’s classes and meet their teachers. Prior to Open House, the High School Guidance Department will be hosting our annual Senior Parent Night at 5:30 PM.  As a reminder, progress reports and report cards posted on the parent portal throughout the year.

I hope your child enjoys the remainder of the summer as you prepare him/her for the challenges of a new school year.
