February 4th Letter from the Superintendent RE: COVID-19

Due to the number of high school staff members in quarantine, coupled with normal absences, we do not have the staffing available at the Valley Central High School for in person instruction tomorrow, February 5th. Therefore all students, except self contained life skills students, will participate in remote learning.  All teachers and staff that are not quarantined will report to the building. I apologize for the inconvenience. As we have stated before, the quarantine rules in Orange County make it incredibly difficult to staff our secondary buildings.

The morning CTEC students will be picked up as normal and will be brought directly home from BOCES, or to the High School if they have their own transportation.

We will utilize the Wednesday Only routes for the afternoon CTEC students.
In addition, today, February 4th, we were notified that 2 East Coldenham students tested positive for COVID 19.  There was no contact tracing necessary for these students.

We will continue to keep our school community informed regarding how this virus is affecting our schools.  We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.
