February 8th Letter From the Superintendent Re: COVID-19

Today, February 8, 2021, we were notified that a Valley Central Middle School student tested positive for COVID 19. We are in the process of contact tracing. Parents of students and staff members that need to quarantine have been or will be notified shortly.
Due to the number of Middle School staff members in quarantine, coupled with normal absences, we do not have the staffing available at the Valley Central Middle School for in person instruction tomorrow, February 9th. Therefore all Middle School students, except Viking Academy students, will participate in remote learning.  All teachers that are not quarantined will report to the building. We will send an updated message tomorrow afternoon to give you specifics as to the rest of the week. We will do our best to bring in as many students as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience.
In addition , we were also notified today that a Valley Central High School staff member and a student tested positive for COVID 19.  There was no contact tracing necessary for these cases.
We will continue to keep our school community informed regarding how this virus is affecting our schools.  We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.
