May 7th Update From COVID-19 Coordinator

It has been  a very good week for the Vikings. Students in grades K-12 that chose 5 days a week in-person instruction are all back in a full week program. I am very happy to report that we have had no COVID positive cases in the district this week and there has been no need to quarantine any staff or students. The statewide positivity rate is 1.27% which is the lowest since October. The rate has been dropping in Orange County and yesterday it was 2%. Things are looking up and we are very grateful and appreciative of the collaboration and cooperation between all Valley Central stakeholders.

As a reminder, school is in session on Thursday, May 27th, due to the use of four snow days.
We have been working on extensive plans for summer school. If you child has been invited to one of our programs, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The elementary summer program will be academic in nature, but will also include fun activities and snacks to keep our young learners engaged.

Thank you for your continued support of the Valley Central School District.
Happy Mother Day to all our hard-working moms!
