Please note that the collection and distribution of Chromebooks are only for students entering grades 6 & 7 and 9 & 12.
To maintain social distancing and to ensure everyone’s safety, we are asking that parents/guardians and students remain in their vehicles at all times when they drive onto campus (Middle School entrance). Upon entering the Middle School & the High School complex, you will be directed by school personnel regarding traffic flow. Please remember to bring a photo ID. Devices will only be given to the parent/guardian on record in SchoolTool. If alternative arrangements need to be made, please contact Mr. Conklin at email@example.com for the High School and ALC OR Mr. Balducci at firstname.lastname@example.org for the Middle School prior to the scheduled date.
All students receiving a new device are required to have read and signed-off on the Chromebook User Agreement. Parents and students please read the agreement below and acknowledge by completing the Google survey. This must be completed prior to your arrival to receive a Chromebook. If you have multiple children this user agreement needs to be completed for each child.
Lastly, if you are a parent/guardian and will have an incoming 9th grade (Class of 2024) and an incoming 12th grader (Class of 2021) you may come on either Tuesday, August 4 or Wednesday, August 5 for the Chromebook exchange for both of your students.

Valley Central is proud to continue the 1 to 1 Chromebook program that began in the Middle School several years back. Using Chromebooks, teachers and students can easily communicate and collaborate on assignments.
During the course of the summer, we will be distributing Chromebooks to students that do not have them. On the back of this letter is an area for your signature as well as the signature of your child. Please read the information on page 2 and then both parent and child should sign the back of this letter. A Chromebook will not be handed out without this signed document being on file for each student.
Please understand that your child is responsible for all unreasonable damage that occurs to the Chromebook. During the course of our first year distributing Chromebooks, we had roughly 3% of these devices get damaged. In order to minimize the costs of repairing them, the Valley Central Technology Department performed all of the repairs in house. It is our intention this year to approach the repairs in the same manner as last year. If your child damages the Chromebook, they should alert their teacher who will in turn contact the Technology Department. A loaner unit will be provided to your child while repairs are made. Once the repairs are made we will alert your child to come pick up the repaired device and a bill for the repair costs will be sent home.
Please assist us in this process by reminding your child how important it is to be careful with their Chromebook especially when it is in a backpack or bag. Placing the backpack down aggressively when the Chromebook is inside will almost certainly cause the corner of the screen to crack.
Last year our Chromebook 1 to 1 program was a complete success and we look forward to continuing this exciting program.
