Nov. 19th Letter from the Superintendent Re: COVID-19 (VCHS)

Early on Thursday, November 19, 2020, the District was informed that a Valley Central High School staff member and a Valley Central High School student tested positive for COVID-19.  We are in contact with the Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH) to assist them with the identification and contact of the staff members and parents/guardians of all students that were probable direct, close or proximate contacts with the infected individual in the classroom/school building or on the school bus.  The OCDOH will make the final determination as to who is considered a close or proximate contact.

The building has already been properly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the guidance of the New York State Department of Health and there will be additional cleaning this evening. The situation has been evaluated with all pertinent parties and it has been decided that Team In Person may report to the building on Friday, November 20th. All other students are currently on remote instruction.   Students are expected to attend all Google Meets and to complete all work..

Thank you for your continued support of the Valley Central School District.
