Applications are being accepted for the District’s DEI Committee until 5:00pm on Friday, June 2, 2023.
This advisory committee was established by the Board of Education to ensure the fair and inclusive treatment of all students and meets every other month during the school year to help guide the district’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts with regard to professional learning, curriculum, school climate, and staffing.
The committee is composed of six students, six parents and community members, seven teachers, two non-instructional staff members, four administrators, the Superintendent of Schools, and a Board of Education representative.
The District is now accepting applications for the following seats on the committee:
- one parent, community member, or recent graduate
- five students currently in grades 7-11
- certified teachers from ALC, East Coldenham, Walden Elementary, and the middle school
- two non-instructional staff members
Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a panel of students and staff, who will then vote for their preferred applicants. Next school year the committee’s bimonthly meetings will take place on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
If you would like to join the committee, please submit an online application before the 5:00pm deadline on Friday, June 2, 2023. Current members whose terms have expired may re-apply to serve another term.
