Dear Valley Central Families,
Several Hudson Valley and Westchester schools have received “swatting” calls, which are hoax calls made to cause undue hardship for first responders and purposely try to put schools into lockdown, causing panic. Valley Central has not received such a call, and our district’s safety team continues to work proactively with law enforcement to stay ahead of any issues. We continue to monitor the social media traffic and remain in touch with our law enforcement community, being updated regularly.
While the recent calls to other districts are being investigated, I wanted to inform you about this issue and reassure you that providing a safe learning and working environment remains our top priority.
Thank you for your support for our students, schools and community.
Superintendent Avila
