Second Episode of Macbeth Premieres March 4th at 7:00 PM

The VCHS Shakespeare Club is presenting Macbeth as a five part video series since the club is unable to bring the production to the stage this year.

The Valley Central High School Shakespeare Club was scheduled for a late October 2020 production of MACBETH. Since we were unable to stage a live performance, we are creating the play in FIVE RECORDED EPISODES using the combined technological assistance from Google Meet, Screencastify, iMovie, Facebook, and YouTube.

The first episode was shown in the fall  The second episode will premiere on the VCSD Facebook page as well as the district’s Youtube channel at 7:00 PM on March 4th.  It will be available on those platforms and this website (Macbeth page in the High School section of the website) after the premiere.

Episode Two is about 24 minutes in length and Shakespeare club advisor David Miller warns that due to the content of the play, some scenes may not be suitable for viewers under the age of 13.

As Shakespeare is often difficult to understand, below is a brief synopsis to get you up to date.

In EPISODE ONE, three “Weïrd Sisters” appear to Macbeth and his comrade Banquo after a battle and prophesy that Macbeth will be king, and that the descendants of Banquo will also become kings . . .

When Macbeth arrives at his castle, he and Lady Macbeth plot to assassinate King Duncan, soon to be their guest, so that Macbeth can become king . . . to be continued in EPISODE TWO . . .

The Shakespeare Club is very grateful for all the support and hope you enjoy the production!
