Sarah Baker poses next to her artwork Sarah Baker, VCHS senior, had her art chosen to be shown at the 2016 26th Annual Legislative Student Art Exhibit at the Legislative Building in Albany on May 18.  This exhibit is presented by the New York State Art Teacher's Association in partnership with NYSUT.

Sarah had a chance to meet with Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney as well as talk about her piece and its inspiration at the reception. She will be attending SUNY New Paltz in September and plans to study art education.

“It was thrilling to have my artwork displayed in such a powerful building,” Sarah said of the experience. “It meant so much to be representing myself, my teachers and Valley Central. I encourage next year's art students to submit their work for possible acceptance. It was truly a once in a lifetime, memorable experience."
