June 20, 2016 - Click, Clack, Moo -- Act!

The students in Mrs. Herman’s kindergarten class at Berea Elementary School performed a readers’ theater to the book Click, Clack, Moo – Cows That Type, By Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.

Berea kindergartners perform Click Clack Moo
Earlier in the month they had so much fun reading the letters that the cows and ducks wrote to Farmer Brown, that they decided to create additional letters.  The students worked cooperatively in groups to think of various animals and their particular needs that must be addressed by Farmer Brown.  For example, the cows loved the mushy mud and hoped to have mudpie makers. The ladybugs ate too many aphids and were in need of a “ladybug doctor”. The horses were tired of eating dry hay and were interested in having fruit snacks delivered.  The ducks were tired of swimming in the pond and requested floaties.
The students wrote their cue cards, practiced their lines and happily performed their Readers’ Theater to over forty guests that consisted of family members, friends and Berea’s principal and assistant principal Mr. Solimando and Ms. Ryder, respectively.
