Nov. 3, 2016 - Humane Society of Walden receives donation from Valley Central High School students
Valley Central High School students in the "For the Animals" club organized a pet food and supply drive to benefit the Human Society of Walden. During the month of October, students placed drop boxes in classrooms and encouraged staff and teachers to contribute. The club collected around $500 worth of donations and on Oct. 28 helped load the Humane Society's van with the contributions.
The club's mission is to provide service to the Humane Society of Walden for the animals in their care. Students volunteer to help with fundraisers with the proceeds or goods and services benefiting the organization. Students in the club also have the opportunity to volunteer for community service at the shelter. Keep an eye out for more upcoming fundraisers from "For the Animals" as the students work to support our community's four-legged friends.
