March 29, 2017 - VCMS PTA hosts Founder's Night

Ms. Verini poses with her award and a student The Valley Central Middle School (VCMS) PTA (Parent Teacher Association) honored remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions to the community throughout the years during the organization’s annual Founder’s Night, held on March 21 in the VCMS cafeteria.
 
The PTA presented Angela Verini, a sixth-grade math teacher at VCMS, with the Lifetime Membership Award. This award serves as recognition of distinguished service to children and youth. Lisa DeBeauvernet and Carolyn Baker, both VCMS teachers praised Ms. Verini’s 35 years of service to the district and her dedication to children and colleagues, as evidenced through her participation in many district committees, including the sunshine club and her willingness to open her door each Thursday during post session to students who want extra math help. They also spoke to her notoriety for giving great hugs and her ability to act as a support system to both colleagues and students. 
 
The PTA also presented Carolyn Wesenberg and Lourdes Nieves with Volunteer Awards in recognition of their exemplary volunteer service with the PTA.
