March 29, 2017 - Walden Elementary students celebrate kindness.

poster contest winners hold up their certificates From Feb. 8 through Feb. 14, students in Walden Elementary School were immersed in the message that kindness matters. The school celebrated “Kindness Makes a Difference Week” with a host of activities promoting peacemaking and kindness. Each day, students came into school dressed to represent different kindness themes, such as wearing pajamas for “Relax and Be Kind Day.” Students were treated to book displays, announcements and décor that reiterated the message that kindness makes a difference. During the week, students were encouraged to submit a piece of artwork representing the theme of the week, and one student from each grade was selected to be awarded for their creativity.
