VCHS Art Students visit Storm King Mountain

VCHS Art students spent a day at Storm King Art Center (https://stormking.org/) on October 30th exploring the many pieces of art.  They were met by a museum docent who took them to many pieces explaining the artworks to them.  The Center provided a tram so that students could see the entire park.  They were then able to pick the pieces that they wanted to experience further. They were able to see two current exhibits, Indicators: Artists on Climate Change, and Outlooks,  a site specific installation.  They were also able to explore the vistor center to learm more about the museum.

Mrs. Schneider, an art teacher at VCHS, said, "It was a beautiful fall day for the students to be immersed in the art world in their own back yard.  Many students don't even realize that this world renown art museum/park is only a few miles from their homes.  I hope that they will visit it again on their own and tell their families and friends about it!"

Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor art museum located in the Town of Cornwall.
