Valley Central wins Corinne Feller Memorial Basketball Tournament
VC won the 19th annual Corinne Feller Memorial Scholarship Basketball Tournament. The tournament has been hosted at VC for the past 19 years and was started by the Feller family to honor the memory of their daughter, Corinne who died at age 18 of ovarian cancer in 1999.
This year Burke Catholic, Marlboro and Wallkill participated in the tournament on November 28 and November 30.
Corinne's niece, Maddie Feller, was named Tournament MVP and Shaina Cooney also made the Tournament Team. Congratulations to our Girl's Varsity Basketball Team and Coaches and thanks to Burke, Marlboro and Wallkill for a great tournament.
All proceeds from the tournament benefited the Corinne Feller Memorial Scholarship Fund. The mission of the scholarship fund is to help to further the education of a deserving VC graduate who is selected having demonstrated outstanding academic acheivement, participating in a Varsity sport, helping the less fortunate and having a concern for the environment. To date, over $54,000 has been awarded.
