Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Class of 2020
Valley Central High School have announced that Kimberly Black will be the valedictorian of the Class of 2020 and that Francesca DiBernardo will be the class salutatorian.
Kimberly Black is the daughter of Sally Black. She is a bright, determined young lady who exemplifies solid personal character, drive and discipline. She is a member of six honor societies and holds leadership roles in several of them. Kim is also on our Student Council, she’s a member of the Volunteer Club and For the Animals, among several other school activities. Additionally, she has held after school jobs for years now. Kim also spends a lot of time volunteering in her community and is an active member of her church, currently involved in outreach in an impoverished area of Orange County.
“The hard work and innate talent required to reach the level of academic success to become the Valley Central High School class of 2020 Valedictorian is unmistakable, and Kim has achieved this with a steady confidence, a quick wit, and a maturity that is often wise beyond her years,” said Melynda Kane, Kim’s guidance counselor.
Kim plans on studying film after graduation has applied to many colleges and will soon make her decision on which college to attend.
Francesca DiBernardo is the daughter of Christopher and Kelly DiBernardo. Franki has played on several Varsity level sports teams including Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. She is a Freshman Orientation leader, participates in Kids’ Night Out and a tutor and a member of several honor societies. She is the recipient of Walden Women’s Club Youth Community Service Award. Franki is employed as a waitress at the Barnside restaurant. She volunteers at the Walden Humane Society and the Fairy Day Arboretum.
Franki plans on studying zoology and is waiting to hear from all the colleges she applied to before making her final decision.
“Franki is hard working, friendly, bright and is driven to attain the goals she sets for herself,” according to her guidance counselor, Glenn Taylor.
Kimberly Black and Francesca DiBernardo will address the Class of 2020 at the Valley Central High School Graduation Ceremony on June 27, 2020.
