Attendance

For summer school courses for credit from July 6th-August 12th, there is a strict attendance policy.  If a student misses 3 classes, they will be denied summer school credit. Students entering over 15 minutes late to class will equal half an absence. Beyond 45 minutes late equals a full absence.

1. School Dress Code is in effect.  Proper attire is required.

2.     No electronic devices including cell phones.

3. No profane, vulgar, or offensive language.

4. Students are not permitted to leave the building once they have entered until the end of the school day.

5. Students are not permitted to wander around the school building.  They are to attend classes and leave.

6.     Smoking/Vaping is not permitted on campus.

7. Students are expected to behave in a manner that is conducive to learning.  Students who can not control their behavior will be removed from the summer program.

8. The Valley Central School District employs an extremely strict policy toward violence and drugs.  Any student whose behavior is determined to be violent will be dropped from the program.  Penalties may also include arrest.

9. Supervision of students will begin at 7:45 AM and end at 10:45 AM. Students who do not have class after 1st period are expected to leave at 9:15 AM.

10.    Students who bring a bicycle or walk to school do so at their own risk. Bicycles should be registered with the police department and summer school administrator.

Students are expected to follow the Valley Central Code of Conduct.  Violations of the Code may result in removal from the program and/or law enforcement involvement.

The complete VCSD Code of Conduct is available here.

Grading

FINAL GRADES FOR SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES WILL BE BASED ON 80% SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE AND 20% FINAL COURSE GRADE FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR.

Valley Central Summer School reserves the right to NOT grant credit due to absences from summer school. Family vacations are not considered excused absences. Students must follow strict seat time to be considered present.

Grad Point

Grad Point is a High School Online Credit Recovery Program that must be completed on school grounds under the supervision of a Grad Point teacher.  It is a separate program from Summer School.
