Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Teachers Program Presents to Board of Education

Valley Central is one of the first schools in Orange County to work with the “Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Teachers” program.

This program seeks to mentor students from culturally diverse or economically challenged backgrounds to become teachers by working with them beginning in high school and continuing through college.

The purpose is to return them to their home communities as teachers.

The students involved in the program and their Valley Central advisor, Tanisha Parker, gave a presentation to the Board of Education on Monday, April 17 along with Yolanda Maldonado from the TSTT program. Ms. Maldonado stated that the purpose of the program is that “the students start here to learn about teaching as a career and then come back here as teachers. It is a full circle program.”
