VCHS A Cappella Groups Compete in High School Championships!

On Saturday, February 18, Valley Central High School’s two a cappella groups, the Valkyries and the Voxtones competed in a Quarterfinal Round of the International Championship of High School A Cappella at Bellport Middle School on Long Island. The groups competed against 6 other performing groups in a highly entertaining and competitive atmosphere.
Both groups gave their absolutely BEST performances on the stage and received critical praise from many competitors and audience members after the show. The Voxtones finished in 2nd place and earned the right to move on to ICHSA Northeast Semifinals at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts in March. While the Valkyries did not move forward, their performance is being considered for a Wild Card entry into the semifinals.
In the Special Awards categories, Ava Cancredi was awarded Outstanding Soloist and Tristan Brahm was awarded Outstanding Vocal Percussion.
Consideration was also given to Emilee Hogan for Outstanding Soloist, and Arianna Sosa for Outstanding Vocal Percussion.
Overall, an outstanding evening for Valley Central A Cappella!
More information on ICHSA Semifinals will be coming shortly!
