VCHS Teacher Rebekah Stoll Awarded NYSCOSS Scholarship

The Valley Central School District is proud to announce that VCHS Family and Consumer Science (FACS) Teacher, Rebekah Stoll is the winner of the New York State Council Of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) 2021 Dr. Mary Barter Scholarship. The award of $2000 is presented to an individual pursuing a graduate study program that leads to School District Administration certification.  Ms. Stoll is in her first year of graduate study of Educational Leadership at Long Island University. 

 

 The Dr. Mary Barter scholarship was established by NYSCOSS to inspire and promote diversity among educational leaders.  It is awarded to candidates who show promise for success and have exhibited promise for leadership in a supervisory role.  Currently, Ms. Stoll is also the FACS Department Chairperson. Ms. Stoll has been at Valley Central for six years and has inspired an interest in Family and Consumer Sciences and coordinated events such as fashion shows and International Food Evenings in the school and community, showcasing the many talents of our students and the value of teaching the whole child

 

Additionally, Ms. Stoll’s work with the Valley Central Mental Health Coalition and as an advisor to the High Schools W.I.S.E. (We Inspire Strength and Empowerment) Club has showcased her leadership potential. 

 

Congratulations to Rebekah Stoll, who will be awarded the Dr. Mary Barter Scholarship at the 2021 NYSCOSS Virtual Winter Institute on March 9, 2021 where she will give an address by video.
