End of Year Activities

 Fifth Grade Virtual Moving-Up Day

Monday, June 15th: Walden’s Virtual Moving-Up Ceremony will be released at 12:00 PM  on the district Facebook page.  It will be a wonderful tribute to our students for all of their hard work.

The Virtual Moving-Up Ceremony will premiere on Facebook at 12:00 PM.  You do not need a Facebook account to view a Facebook page.    The ceremony will still be available on the Facebook page after the premiere and will also be posted  on YouTube and on this page.  It is available to view if you cannot watch the premiere.  It will remain on these outlets through the summer months.

Tuesday, June 16th: we will be inviting students and families (one car per family), to the front of Walden Elementary School on Orchard Street to receive their certificates, awards, medals and yard signs.

We will also include yearbooks for those unable to pick them up this week during student material pick-up.

Please stay in your cars, as all items will be handed to you.  Families should arrive based on their homerooms during the following time frames:

Hoeffner – 9:00-10:00
Meyer – 10:00-11:00
Quinn and Rodriguez – 11:00-12:00

On June 16th  students will see our 5th Grade staff, who will be waiting anxiously on the front lawn to congratulate our students and families as they arrive.  Our teachers are all looking forward to this day and are glad that they will be able to wave and wish our students well in the Middle School.

We understand that this will in no way replace celebrating together in person, but we will do our best to make this a memorable experience for our WES students and families.

June 1-4: Student Belongings Pick Up

We are hoping that you and your families are staying healthy and safe during these challenging times.  In an effort to ensure students get their belongings that are still in the school returned, we have created a procedure to help you obtain items in desks and lockers.  At the same time, we are also requesting that musical instruments (including 3 rd Grade Recorders) and library books be returned when you come to pick-up student belongings at the school.

Teachers and staff will work safely to place all of your child’s belongings into a bag labeled with their name.  When you arrive at designated times (listed below), we ask that you tell us your child’s name/s and their teacher’s name/s, so we can place their labeled bags on a table for you to take.   We will
adhere closely to social distancing, and smile from at least 6 feet away!

Please pull up to the front of the building (Orchard Street) and await instructions from our staff on how to obtain your items, and drop off library books and musical instruments.
