Winter Fest 2021 Celebrates Senior Class

Winter Fest 2021 was held at the High School on March 4, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to recognize this year’s graduating seniors.  Normally, the first week of March is when Senior Week would be held to kick off the many senior events that are a tradition at Valley Central.

The Pandemic has made it impossible for the entire Senior class to be together and the Winter Semi-Formal Black and White Dance which is the usual culmination of Senior Week could not be held.  The Winter Fest became the alternative event.

Seniors were invited to drive through the lane in front of the MS/HS complex which was transformed with lights and music.  A virtual photo booth was available.  As they drove through the line they were greeted by faculty and staff members and received gifts of S’mores kits, cocoa bombs and a souvenir cup from the All Night Grad Party committee. Seniors were given a chance to take part in a scavenger hunt and car decorating contest. Participants will be entered into a raffle and winners will be selected.

The Senior Class Council, Junior Class Council, Student Government Association and their advisors along with Graduation Master of Ceremonies, Kim Carver were instrumental in making this event possible.  The All Night Grad Party Committee were also a partner in this success as were the efforts of Eric Guarneri of E-Rock Entertainment.  The High School Administration thanks them for all their work in making this event memorable for our seniors.  Additionally, they also wanted to thank the HS custodial staff, Buildings/Grounds,  Montgomery Fire Department and Town of Montgomery Police Department for all of their assistance and the Board of Education members and Central Office Administrators for their support.

“It is that time of the year where we begin celebrating all of our Seniors and their accomplishments. I could not be happier with the response we’ve received for Winter Fest. This was a collaborative effort by all involved, and I thank them for their time and dedication to the Valley Central students and community. I am looking forward to continuing to celebrate the Class of 2021!” Michael Conklin, 11/12 Principal of the High School said about  Winter Fest 2021.
