Administrative Opening: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

Position Summary: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction provides instructional leadership that promotes District-wide continuous improvement, embeds equity in all aspects of the educational programs, fosters social-emotional development and advances academic excellence for all students.

Effective Date: August 1, 2023

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must possess a NYS Administrative Certificate (SDL or SDA) or is eligible for certification
  • Successful experience in teaching at both the elementary and secondary level.
  • At least five years of experience as a school administrator, preferably as a            director of district-wide programs or member of central administrative staff with direct supervision and program evaluation
  • Culturally proficient individual with extensive knowledge of Culturally Responsive teaching

General Responsibilities:
The duties include but not exclusively limited to:

  • Provides overall leadership in the development, implementation, revision and assessment of Curriculum
  • Leads the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts
  • District wide research, assessment and for analyzing the effectiveness of the educational programs
  • Plans, implements and evaluates Professional Learning for all District staff
  • Maintain systemic assessment and monitoring of students’ needs and achievement
  • Acts as District Officer for all Federal Grants
  • Develop Community and Family Partnerships that supports teaching and learning
  • Collaborates with principals, directors and teachers to insure consistency and coherence of the instructional program throughout the district
  • All duties assigned by the Superintendent

Supervision:

  • Director of Special Education
  • Director of APPR, Data/Testing and UPK
  • Director in Technology with an emphasis of Instructional Technology
  • Coordinates Team Leaders and Department Chairs
  • Oversee AIS, MTSS and Social-Emotional Programs
