Please Read: Section IX Basketball Spectator Guide for the Girls’ Basketball Game on 3/3 and Boys’ Basketball Game on 3/5

Dear Valley Central Community and Guests,

We are excited to welcome you to the Valley Central campus this week for the Section IX Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball games.  The Girls’ Basketball is on 3/3 (Tuesday) at 6 p.m. and the Boys’ Basketball game is on 3/5 (Thursday) at 6 p.m. To ensure a smooth entry and a safe, high-energy environment for our student-athletes and fans, we have outlined the following “Know Before You Go” event logistics.

Arrival & Entry

● Student Identification: High school students will need to bring their student IDs.
● Supervision: To ensure the safety of our younger fans, all elementary and middle school age students must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
● Bag Policy: To expedite entry and maintain safety, backpacks and bags are not permitted. All bags are subject to search. Please note that the district does not have on-site storage; we ask that you secure prohibited items in your vehicle or leave them home. Exceptions will be made for verified medical supplies or childcare necessities for infants or children under 2 when present with the adult entering.
Face Coverings: For security purposes, face coverings that obscure identity (such as ski masks, balaclavas) are prohibited. Religious headwear is permitted.

Prohibited Items & Facilities

The following are not permitted on school grounds or inside the gymnasium:

Food/Drink: Any food, drinks, cans, bottles, or glass containers.
● Distractions: Artificial noisemakers (horns, whistles, lasers) or large visual
obstructions (signs, flags, balloons).
● Animals: pets are not permitted on premises.
● Substances: Valley Central is a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free environment.

Game Environment & Sportsmanship

● Seating: For the comfort of all attendees, spectators are required to sit in their designated “Home” or “Visitor” sections.
● Court Access: To protect the safety of the athletes, non-players and non-coaches are not permitted on the court at any time.
Sportsmanship: We view our athletic contests as an extension of the classroom. We ask all guests to maintain a respectful environment by honoring the judgment of officials, coaches and refraining from disrespectful language or taunting.

Post-Game Departure

Following the conclusion of the event, please exit the school grounds promptly. This allows our security and facilities teams to secure the building and ensures a smooth traffic flow for all departing guests.

We appreciate your partnership in making these games a positive experience for our student-athletes. We look forward to seeing you in the stands!

Additionally, we would like to extend our gratitude to the following partners who help make these events safe and enjoyable for everyone:

● The Town of Montgomery Police Department, Atlas Security Services, Valley Central Event Personnel and Buildings and Grounds Department

Sincerely,
