Registration Information
Registration for Summer School 2024 is currently open.
Registration for High School must be completed by your child’s school counselor- please contact them as soon as possible.
Registration for Middle School will take place via a Google Form. Parents of summer school-eligible students will receive this form in their email.
Middle School staff will register students for summer school once the form has been filled out.
Summer School Calendar
Summer school begins on Monday, July 8th, 2024, and ends on Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday each week.
The Summer School program will be held at Valley Central High School in the English wing.
Summer School Courses
High School Classes
A limited number of ELA, Math, Science & Social Studies will be offered for grades 9-12. Courses will be offered based on enrollment requests.
High School Summer Class Schedule:
Period 1 – 8:00 am – 9:15 am
Period 2 – 9:20 am – 10:35 am
Edmentum (self-paced online credit recovery program) for grades 9-12. The program will run from 7/08 through 8/15, and hours are 8 am – 12 pm.
A limited number of High School Regents exam prep classes will be offered from 8/12- 8/15.
Middle School Classes
ELA, Math, and Science will be offered for grades 6-8.
Middle School Summer Class Schedule:
Period 1 – 8:00 am – 8:48 am
Period 2 – 8:53 am – 9:41 am
Period 3 – 9:46 am – 10:35 am
Transportation Information
Transportation will not be provided for students attending summer school.
Students who do not have class after the first session are expected to leave at 9:15 am.
Students who only have a second session class are expected to arrive before 9:10 am.
Attendance
There is a strict attendance policy for summer school. Students who miss three classes will be denied summer school credit.
Students entering over 15 minutes late to class will equal half an absence. Beyond 45 minutes late equals a full day’s absence.
Code of Conduct
Students are expected to follow the Valley Central Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code may result in removal from the program. The complete VCSD Code of Conduct is available here.
