On Wednesday, June 4, Valley Central School District will be holding parent workshops on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Parents are encouraged to attend either a morning or evening session at their child’s school. Workshop sessions are:
June 4
Morning Sessions:
- 7:30 a.m. at Valley Central High School
- 8:00 a.m. at Valley Central Middle School
- 9:30 a.m. at Berea, East Coldenham, Montgomery and Walden Elementary Schools
Evening Sessions:
- 5:15 p.m. at Berea, East Coldenham, Montgomery and Walden Elementary Schools, Valley Central Middle School and Valley Central High School
Parents/guardians who attend one of these workshops can expect to receive an overview of SEL, learn the NYS SEL standards and what they mean for Valley Central School District, as well as each individual school. They will also receive examples of SEL implementation aligned with the standards, and are invited to discuss strategies for parents to support their children’s SEL development during the summer.
