Dear Valley Central Families,
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area beginning at noon on Thursday, June 11th, through 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12th, due to forecasted high temperatures.
As shared in last week’s communication regarding the District’s Heat Safety Plan, when temperatures in instructional spaces reach 88 degrees, students must be relocated to cooler areas. If sufficient cooling space is not available, early dismissal may be required.
Based on the current forecast and our assessment of building conditions, the District will implement a half-day dismissal schedule on Thursday, June 11th and Friday, June 12th.
Dismissal times will be as follows:
- High School: 10:57 a.m.
- Middle School: 11:50 a.m.
- Elementary Schools: 12:30 p.m.
- ALC: 12:15 p.m.
Changes to building specific events (field trips, evening events, etc.) will be communicated directly by building principals.
