Hall of Fame FAQ

  • Who can be nominated?
    • Any former athlete who has been graduated from Valley Central for 10 years can be nominated.
    • Any past team can be nominated, 10 years after the team participated.
    • Any former staff member who has been retired for a period of 5 years can be nominated.
  • Who can nominate somebody?
    • Any staff member, coach, alumni, or community member can nominate a former athlete or contributor to the athletic program.
  • How many inductees will there be annually?
    • In the inaugural year, a maximum of 15 individuals (including athletes, administrator/coach) can be inducted. This will consist of representation from each decade beginning with the 1960’s.  The number of each selection from each decade will be at the discretion of the committee.
    • In the second and third year, a maximum of 10 individuals will be inducted, with no more than 3 from any one decade.   A maximum of one team can be inducted either year.
    • From the fourth year on, a maximum of 6 individuals can be inducted and a maximum of 1 team. The committee shall make an effort to represent multiple decades in the selection process.
    • The committee reserves the right to add to the maximum if nominations warrant.
  • What happens if someone who is nominated is not selected? Do they need to be re-nominated for the following year?
    • Any individual who is not selected in the year they are nominated remains on the ballot for a period of at least 5 years for future consideration.
  • Who votes in the nomination process?
    • Valley Central Hall of Fame Committee members who have attended a minimum of half the Hall of Fame committee meetings.
  • Who can join the VC Athletic Hall of Fame Committee?
    • Any Valley Central alumni or athletic supporter. The committee will be made up of 12-15 members.
  • Who could I contact if I am interested in joining the committee?
