Students must complete necessary assessment requirements as per New York State Education Department:

New York State Required Tests

Grade 3-8

  • New York State English Language Arts Assessment
  • New York State Mathematics Assessment

Grade 4, 8

  • New York State Science Assessments (written and performance)

The Valley Central School District’s Local Testing Program

Grade K-5 Math End of Year Assessments

Students will take an End of Year Math Assessment that will serve as one of a group of multiple measures used to determine eligibility for Academic Intervention Services.

Grade K-5 Literacy Collaborative Assessments

Students will take benchmarks and other assessments from Lesley University’s Literacy Collaborative Program that will serve as one of a group of multiple measures used to determine eligibility for Academic Intervention Services.

Grades 6-8 Local Final Examinations

Students will take local finals in their Middle School subject areas.

Grades 6-8 Northwest Evaluation Association – Measures of Academic Progress

Students will take NWEA-MAP adaptive assessments in ELA and Math. These will serve as one of a group of multiple measures used to determine eligibility for Academic Intervention Services.
