Freshmen & New Student Orientation Information

Dear Viking Families,

Welcome to Valley Central High School!  We are incredibly excited to welcome the Class of 2030 to our family along with our new VC students. To ensure a smooth transition into high school, we are hosting our annual Freshmen and New Student Orientation, “Setting Sail for Success,” on Thursday, August 27th.

The orientation is designed to give our new students a hands-on, independent experience of the Viking Way.  Orientation day is divided into two sessions based on students’ last names:

Session 1 (last names A-L):  9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Session 2 (last names M-Z):  11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Sessions start promptly at 9 AM and 11 AM.We encourage all incoming freshmen and new students to show their school pride by wearing VC colors, royal blue and white!

For Our Students: Setting Sail

Upon arrival, students will head directly to the auditorium for the general session. This is your time to meet peers, connect with student leaders, meet staff members, learn the layout of the building, and get a true feel for the high school experience.

For Our Parents & Guardians:  Navigating the Shore

Students should attend orientation alone. Parents can skip the orientation entirely by using the drop-off option below. All vital parent information will be shared later at the Open House on September 17th.

Chromebook Agreement/Pickup:

Option 1: Send the Form with Your Child (Recommended)

  • No parent attendance needed.

  • Send the signed agreement form to school with your child.

  • Your child will turn in the form and bring their Chromebook home.

Option 2: Parent Pick-Up & PTSA Sign-up

If you choose to come in person, you will only look after administrative tasks while your child is in their sessions:

  • Form Submission: Hand in the signed technology agreement.

  • Device Pickup: Retrieve your child’s Chromebook.

  • PTSA Membership: Join the Parent Teacher Student Association.

We look forward to partnering with you to make the next four years memorable.  Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on August 27th!

Warm regards,

VCHS Freshman Orientation Team
