Meet the Facility Dog, Buddy!

About Buddy

Buddy the dog sits in front of the camera for a photo in a field. Buddy has all black fur and hazel eyes looking at the camera.

HI! My name is Buddy. I am a facility dog who you will see around the school with my handler, Mrs. Benjamin, who is a student assistance counselor. We will be supporting students through group and individual counseling, various events, lessons in the classroom, and on wellness walks. I can’t wait to meet you!

What is a facility dog?

Facility dogs are highly trained working dogs who provide support and comfort in many different settings. At VC, Buddy is here to support both students and staff. Buddy is here to be a caring companion and part of our VC community!

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:

  • I came to VC from a program called “Puppies Behind Bars.”
  • I will be housed in the high school, but will also visit other buildings in VC!
  • I can tell you a story, if you ask.
  • I know how to bow!
