On April 21 there was an award ceremony at the VFW of Maybrook to celebrate the achievements of the winners of the Patriots’ Pen and the Voice of Democracy contest. Students’ essays were selected from the middle school and the theme was “How are you inspired by America?” The winners from the middle school are:
Addison Militello – 1st Place
Jennifer Ruiz Medina – 2nd Place
Ava Kugler-3rd Place.
In the high school, students were selected from an audio contest and the theme was “What are the greatest attributes of our Democracy?” The winners from the high school are:
Grace Economy – 1st Place
Carlie Benincasa – 2nd Place; This is the third year in a row that Carlie has won.
Joseph Burke – 3rd Place.
