The title is a link to the google form which serves as the application.

“A college scholarship grant to a Senior boys and girls varsity athlete who by their skill level, exuberant spirit, and love of competition, represented Valley Central High and enhanced the playing experiences of each of his and her teammates”.
Billy Cathell McClearn was an exceptional Valley Central varsity athlete and teammate. He played and starred in both basketball and football and was inducted into the Valley Central Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011. Billy was a three year varsity starter in football but his true passion was basketball where he led the Vikings to two league championships (1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons), scored over 1,000 career points, and twice led the Orange County League in scoring.
Billy passed away suddenly in 2011 and this scholarship has been established in his memory, by his friends, family , and loved ones. Above all else, Billy touched the lives of his teammates through his passion, spirit and love for competition. Candidates applying for the scholarship, maintained in his memory, should provide the following information along with a 1-2 page essay as indicated below.
